"Mr Andrew Edward [sic] Browne, who has died in his 80th year at his daughter’s residence in Bangor, was a graduate of the old Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland.
"In the early part of his career he practised in various parts of Great Britain, including the Shetland Islands and then returned to his native Belfast where he was in practice for 30 years in the Ormeau Road district.
"Mr Browne retired in 1957 and went to Bangor to reside with his daughter. Mrs W T Cooke, Groomsport Road.
"He is survived also by his son, Mr Edwin Browne, of Cheadle, Cheshire.
"Interment took place in Ballynahinch Second Presbyterian Church cemetery.
"The service was conducted by Rev R J McIlmoyle, of the Reformed Presbyterian Church and Rev J B Jennings, minister of Hamilton Road Methodist Church, Bangor."
