Gentleman, Estate Agent, of 20 St Oswald's Road, Brompton, Middlesex.
He was the son of Elizabeth Stevenson and Salwey Browne, of Hampshire.

On 28 June 1872 he married Louisa Brooks Arnaud, daughter of Elias Macaulay Arnaud and Annie Maria Norris.
