Hi Gilda,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Hi Gilda

How is it going so far, were the How-To-pages Click here  helpful or did they leave you with questions?

Clicking your green tags shows members who follow that tag. Add tags for other family surnames, for locations. The tags link you to the community sourcing & research options  Information on tags is on page one of the How To pages.

We want to help you learn about the site and the community, hopefully you found the pages and links useful.

Questions ask in our G2G forum Click Here or click my name and message me.

P.S. If links do not work in an email from WikiTree click in the comment box in your profile

Your single tag should be 3 tags to connect you

Gilda, you are all set as a confirmed member of WikiTree now. I hope you discover as much about your family as I have about mine over the last several years.

Check out the New Member How-to pages for some quick tips on working with both the Wiki pages and our other members. There is some great information in those pages.

If you have questions about how WikiTree works, let me know and I will find answers. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Gilda, thank you for your message asking about WikiTree.

Right now, you are a Guest on WikiTree. We are different to most other genealogy sites. We are totally run by volunteers. Everyone who is a full member can add their ancestors to our tree. Eventually, as you add your family, you will probably find that someone else has already entered one or more of your ancestors so you can just connect to that profile. There are many opportunities to collaborate here. WikiTree does not store source material like other websites. However, each profile is supposed to be sourced so those sources can be accessed by everyone.

I hope this helps and if you decide to Volunteer, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Ginny~WikiTree Greeter

Welcome!

This is just a note to say hello and to let you know that I am available to answer questions about joining WikiTree.
