BELL, Claude Robert Sr. - Of Davi son, age 80, died Sunday, June 20, 1999 at Genesys Health Park after a long illness. Funeral Services will be held 10AM Thursday, June 24, 1999 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd. Military graveside burial at Lakeview Cemetery in Clarkston will be conducted by American Legion Post #63. Mr. Bell will lie in state at the funeral home where the family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 6-9PM on both Tuesday and Wednesday. A memorial service will be conducted by the Davison Masonic Lodge #236 F.&A.M. on Wednesday evening at 7PM, followed by a memorial service conducted by American Legion Post #267 at 8PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans or American Heart Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Mr. Bell was born in Dover, FL on February 4, 1919, the son of Thomas H. and Annie Laura (Watson) Bell. Claude married Luena Y. Close at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS on April 6, 1949. Mr. Bell was a veteran of 26 years with the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He served during WWII in Europe with the 555th Radar Division. After retirement in 1968, Mr. Bell moved to Davison Twp. He was a member of the Davison Masonic Lodge #236 F.&A.M. and was a Master of the Davison Lodge in 1982 and Chaplain for many years. He was a honorary member of Lapeer and Lake Orion Lodges. He was a member of the Washington Chapter #15 RAM. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #267 and #63. He attended Calvary Community Church in Flint. He is survived by wife, Luena Y.; 2 sons, Philip and wife Sally of Rockford, IL, Claude Robert Jr. and wife Johanne of Davison; 3 daughters, Desiree and husband Michael Bell-Green of Milwaukee, WI, Charlanne and husband Robert Bratton of Flint, Heather Bell of Chicago; grandchildren, Mark Bell, Rachelle and husband Craig Bacon, Meredith Bell, Rene' Bell; great-granddaughter, Morgan Elise McGrail; sister, Sallie and husband Ray Mendenhall of Nampa, ID; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.
