Tennessee Asaline Bell was born in 1870 in Rutherford, Tennessee, United States, daughter of James Thomas Bell (1839–1897) and Roxanna Young (1834–1917).

Tennessee married Charlie Dement (born in May, 1858 in Tennessee; son of David Dement).
